Class Discussion

Today, we took part in a class debate. I was already excited about this because arguing is my expertise! I enjoyed really hearing how people felt about the topic. Although a majority of us agreed that the Mosque should be "ok'd", we all had a different reason for why we felt so. It is so amazing to see that even though we are only a class full of teenagers, we are so opinionated, and have so much to say about things going on in the world. People think that we are to be seen and not heard, but I think that is such an ignorant thought. We, as children, are the future of America, so if we have to be the ones to live here 10 years from now, why can't we have a say in how it's going to end up? So far, this was my favorite part of class although I was a bit off my rocker today. I think it made a lot of people realize how serious of an issue this really was.
