Teacher interview

1. Overall, what do you think of our education System?
A. "I'm extremely dissapointed in the way education is being handled. Our system of standards stops us from teaching kids what they need to know in order to be prepared for college."
2. What would you rate California's Education System?
A. "A "2" and thats only thanks to the few good teachers out there"
3. What makes a "good" teacher?
A. "A good teacher is a teacher who goes to work saying "Today, I'm going to make a difference", not, "I can't wait to get my paycheck"
4. What would you say a teachers "job" entails?
A. "A teacher's job is to prepare them for life. Weather they decide to go to college, or enter into the workforce."
5. What changes would you make to the system?
A. "Simple. Better teachers."
6. Do you think the lack of money is a big problem?
A. "Yes and No. Money is needed, but there are poor schools that still teach their students what they need to know."
7. What can the government do to help improve our schools?
A. "They need to set a higher standard for teachers to follow, this way, bad teachers will eventually be weeded out all together."
8. How do you feel about the CAHSEE?
A. "It's beneficial. It shows us who knows their stuff, and who doesnt. Then we know who needs the extra help."
9. Why did you get in to the education system?
A. To make a difference. And prepare children for whatever path they choose after high school."
10. Any last comments?
A. Our system is pretty much wrecked, but with the right people, I believe we can get back on track."
